Developed in collaboration with Marie Tricaud. Sonoculoscope is an intense immersive experience in which the auditory and visual surroundings of the users are transformed into shifting sounds, colours and light.
Two kaleidoscopes are housed in custom, rotating units that are each linked to a microphone and set of headphones. The two units face each other and the setup allows users to speak to one another through the system as if on a phone. Embedded within the custom casing is a rotary encoder that enables each person to warp the voice of their partner by twisting the lens. When this occurs, the auditory and visual input is manipulated at the same time, creating a powerful, psychedelic sensory experience.
