LIQUID LIGHT - Marshmallow Laser Feast / Johnnie Walker
We were asked to design an immersive installation for Marshmallow Laser Feast as part of London Design Festival 2024. As per the brief we designed a kinetic light sculpture to cast caustic patterns onto projection screens from hundreds of glass blown forms. The system consisted of a 2m are that slowly orbited through the hung glass constellation. The arm held a xenon arc lamp which acted as an extremely bright point source, casting extremely sharp shadows, caustics. The arc lamp far out performed any LED source we could find. Tom Cecil was responsible for the metal fabrication, and we managed all the spatial and electromechanical design.
